1. Our commitment to accessibility

Rhiw Wood Treehouses is committed to making our accommodation and website as accessible and welcoming as possible. We want as many people as possible to enjoy a stay with us, regardless of ability or access needs.

We are continually working to improve accessibility and welcome feedback from guests to help us do this.

 

2. How accessible our accommodation is

Our Treehouses are located on our working farm in a rural woodland setting and include uneven ground, natural terrain, and steps.

Key accessibility information:

  • Access to Treehouses is ¼ mile from the main road, by a country lane 

  • Please use the parking areas adjacent to each treehouse. Additional parking is available on the left as you go past the “wishing throne”. The car parks are well lit and gravelled. There is a paved area to manoeuvre a wheelchair. It is well lit with sensor lighting. 

  • The entrance to Cnocell is up a slight ramp (1m wide) accessed by a door of (95cm wide) and is hinged on the left. It has a threshold of 20cm.

  • The entrances to Oolert is as above except the ramp to the front door is (120cm wide) and there is a second entrance from the decking area via metal steps.

  • The treehouses have names outside their main doors, and all have a manual outside light.

  • The ground surfaces in and around the Treehouses are uneven, natural, and may become slippery in wet weather

  • The entrances to the Treehouses and ground floor including the decking is accessible for wheelchair users 

  • Bathrooms and facilities are accessible 

  • To access the second floor you have 12 steps to climb to reach the bedrooms with a sofa bed on the ground floor

If you have specific access needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before booking so we can advise whether the accommodation is suitable.

 

3. Arrival and site access

  • Parking is available on-site directly outside the accommodation

  • The route from parking to accommodation includes 

  • Lighting is limited in some outdoor areas at night there are lighting points to assist

 

4. What we can do to help

We are happy to:

  • Provide detailed descriptions of access routes and steps

  • Share photos or videos of the site to help you assess suitability

  • Discuss individual access needs before booking

 

5. Non-accessible features

Due to the nature of our woodland setting and Treehouse design, some areas are not fully accessible. These include:

  • Multi-level internal layouts

  • Natural terrain pathways

  • Limited ability to modify structures due to planning and environmental constraints

We are able to offer full wheelchair accessibility on the ground floor only.
